Since the middle of February the field phase of the survey of all graduates of the academic year 2021 is completed. Therefore we contacted and kindly invited every alumni, who graduated from University of Münster in between October 1st, 2020 and September 30th, 2021, to participated in this year’s questionnaire. Bachelor graduates, who continued their studies in a master degree programme, were also very welcome to participate. A total of 3.414 former students and doctoral candidates participated the survey which corresponds to a response rate of 51,5 %.
We wish to thank all the participants who took the time to answer the questions of their alma mater!

This survey is being conducted by the nationwide Graduate Survey Cooperation Project (KOAB), coordinated by the Institute of Applied Statistics (ISTAT).

About the graduate survey

Over 7,000 students graduated from the University of Münster (WWU) in the winter semester 2020/21 and summer semester 2021. Some of them continued their studies, enrolled in doctoral programmes or started working, others completed an internship or commenced a practical year, while others chose to travel or took a break from their studies and professional life in other ways.

The WWU is very interested in learning about the different paths graduates take after their studies, for only then is it possible to analyse the impact of the University’s academic conditions on their future life and career. In addition, their assessment of academic conditions and the qualifications they obtained during their studies provide crucial information on what areas of academics and teaching the WWU can further improve. Consequently, the WWU has conducted annual, broad-based graduate surveys since 2007 in order to learn more about the graduates’ professional endeavours and gain retrospective evaluation of degree programmes. The response rate has always been substantial; in our most recent survey, over 51 percent responded!

The results of the graduate surveys are presented in the form of short reports, tabular, text-enhanced time series, and volumes of tables. The data is analysed on a continual basis, and the results are successively presented and augmented on this website. Furthermore, individually customised reports of results or datasets can be created upon request.
