The team behind the open access journal “Soziologie und Nachhaltigkeit – Beiträge zur sozial-ökologischen Transformationsforschung” whose editors include ZIN researchers Prof. Matthias Grundmann, Dr. Björn Wendt, Niklas Haarbusch, and Carsten Ohlrogge, has published a new call for papers. Contributions are sought across the entire spectrum of sociological sustainability and transformation research.
The next Thomasforum of the Evangelische Thomasgemeinde will take place on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 7 p.m. Under the title “Sustainability, justice, and a good life!”, it will address key questions about the role of citizens and consumers in the future of the planet. The discussion with ZIN member Prof. Doris Fuchs and Jutta Höper, head of the Sustainability Department at the Office for Green Spaces, Environment, and Sustainability of the City of Münster will touch on how citizens and municipal administrations can work together to pursue sustainability, justice, and a good life for all. | Read more
The newly established Center for Data Science and Complexity (CDSC) will celebrate its opening on Monday, Februar 9, with a kick-off and expo event under the motto “Connecting Disciplines Through Shared Methods.” In addition to exciting keynotes, the program also includes a poster expo and networking session, at which the ZIN will be represented with a poster in the "Campus Connections" Segment. | Read more

As part of the SchlauRaum Festival, the KIPPPUNKT open-air theater is part of a series of events organized by Theater Titanick in collaboration with ZIN scholar Prof. Dr. Antonia Graf.
The event series brings art, science, and the public into dialogue. On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 7:30 p.m., a lecture and a discussion entitled “Korridor statt Kippen? Konsumkorridore als Strategie für nachhaltige Entwicklung” (translatable as “Corridors instead of tipping points? Consumption corridors as a strategy for sustainable development”) with Prof. Dr. Antonia Graf will take place in the Titanick Hall (Am Hawerkamp 31). | Read more

These include, for example, seminars on topics such as „Wachstum?! The Interreg NWE project ECOPRO under the leadership of ZIN board member Prof. Dr. Bodo Philipp, a continuation of the CurCol project, is developing sustainable and biodegradable dyes for packaging materials.
