Digital Cleanup Week 2026

University-wide digital clean-up campaign with events from March 16–20

This year’s Digital Cleanup Week will take place from March 16 to March 20. A well-organized digital environment not only enables energy and emissions savings but also contributes to a more pleasant work environment and enhanced productivity. The ZIN research group FORUM and the Sustainability Office invite all students and employees of the university to participate in the digital clean-up campaign and establish new routines for a more sustainable digital environment.

Each day during the action week, a digital space will be suggested that participants can declutter. In addition to cleaning up one’s own digital waste together, short virtual information sessions will take place every day at 12:00 p.m., for example on the topic “Sustainable Digitalization & Digital Sovereignty” by ZIN researcher Dr. Anne Mollen. Guided tours of the university’s data center will also be offered. An overview of the events and further information about the clean-up campaign can be found here.
