ZIN-scientists at the CAMPUS EARTH 2025 – The 4th Sustainability Day of the University of Münster with broad ZIN-participation

On November 14, 2025, the University of Münster will open the doors of the GeoMuseum for the fourth Sustainability Day. Under the theme “Creating a Healthy Future,” experts from the University of Münster, among them many members of the ZIN, will address the public. In addition, information booths and workshops from both the scientific and operational-technical fields invite everyone to join the discussion.

Prof. Dr. Michael Quante (Vice-Rector for Internationalization, Knowledge Transfer and Sustainability and member of the ZIN) will open the event with words of welcome. At the information booth “Microbiological Solutions for a Sustainable World,” Dr. Julia Wessel, ZIN-researcher Dr. Johannes Holert, and Dr. Jannis Bröker from the research groups of ZIN-members Prof. Dr. Bodo Philipp and Prof. Dr. Jochen Schmid will provide insights into current interdisciplinary research projects focused on developing climate-friendly and bio-based technologies. Furthermore, ZIN-members Prof. Dr. Tobias Brandt and Dr. Lea Püchel, together with Ronja Dobler, will conduct an interactive workshop on calculating the Earth Overshoot Day for organizations. The workshop explores what can be learned from calculating an organization’s Earth Overshoot Day and how the results can be strategically used to make resource consumption in public institutions more visible and conscious. Interested participants can register directly for the workshop via this link.
