FRUGALL is a European collaborative research project with partners in Germany, France, and Spain. Across the three countries, Agroecological Living Labs are being established as regional innovation and experimentation spaces where researchers and practitioners work together to develop and test solutions for sustainable agri-food systems. As the Living Labs are at different stages of development, the project provides valuable opportunities for mutual learning and the exchange of experiences across regions.
The Münster Living Lab builds on the many initiatives already active in the region. It connects and supports these activities, fosters the co-development of innovative approaches for the regional agri-food system, and helps translate the knowledge and experiences gained into practical insights for practitioners, researchers, and policymakers.
FRUGALL is part of the European Agroecology Partnership, funded by Horizon Europe, which brings together the European Commission and 111 partners from 31 countries. The Partnership aims to promote research and innovation for agriculture that can address the challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss, and food security while remaining economically viable for farmers.
The FRUGALL project runs from 2026 to 2029. "We look forward", the project members write, "to working together with our project partners and the many committed stakeholders in Münster to actively shape the transition towards a more sustainable agri-food system".
