“Served! – 10 discourse bites on the food transition”
The city of Tecklenburg and its partners invite you to a special theatre evening, featuring the play “Angerichtet! – 10 Diskurshäppchen zur Ernährungswende” (translatable as “Served! – 10 discourse bites on the food transition”).
The performance will take place on Friday, October 10 2025, at the Hotel Drei Kronen (Landrat-Schultz-Straße 15, Tecklenburg). Doors open at 6:30 p.m., the performance begins at 7:00 p.m.
In ten pointed scenes, the play serves the audience an entertaining and critical look at today's nutrition and tomorrow's food culture. Together with the audience, the question is asked: What does the future of food look like, and how can a sustainable approach be implemented?
The evening is more than just a theatre performance: with the aforementioned play, the city of Tecklenburg is launching the real-world laboratory "Zukunft schmackhaft machen!“, (translatable as “Making the future tasty!”), which or aims to accompany the region on its path to a sustainable future. At the heart of the project are the tables of utopias, where over shared meals – as a symbol of exchange and encounter – ideas for a desirable future can be dreamed up and shaped.
Admission is free. Donations are welcome. Food and drinks can be purchased on site. For better planning, please register by email: zukunftsmut@uni-muenster.de.
Background: ‘Zukunft schmackhaft machen!’
The real-world laboratory aims to focus more strongly on the potential and opportunities offered by transformation, to generate self-efficacy and to promote ‘transformative resilience’ in times of multiple crises. As part of the design and testing of building blocks for the future, citizens of the region are invited to various ‘tables of utopias’, which are intended to bring the food transition in the region to life as a central methodological element of the project. In this way, the real-world laboratory, together with its project partners, the city of Tecklenburg, Haus Hülshoff and the Institut für sozial-ökologische Forschung (ISOE), is building on Tecklenburg's sustainability strategies. Funded by the DBU, the project, based at the Zentrum für Interdisziplinäre Nachhaltigkeitsforschung at the University of Münster, focuses on the transfer of science, culture and society for shaping a future characterised by courage and a desire to actively participate. The play ‘Served!’ marks the festive launch of the project and is intended to stimulate joint exchange and participation in the region.
