3rd ZIN-Brown Bag Lecture: “Growth, Environment, and Peace through Innovation and Strong Institutions”

May 22, 2025, starting at 12:15 p.m. – with insights from economics

On Thursday, May 22, at 12:15 p.m., economist Dr. Andrea Beccarini will give a lecture on “Growth, Environment, and Peace through Innovation and Strong Institutions” as part of the ZIN-Brown Bag Lectures.

This lecture will examine the crucial interface between technology, the environment, and institutions for sustainable growth. What opportunities does technological progress offer for overcoming resource scarcity? How important is international cooperation for balancing economic growth and environmental protection? What role do democratic institutions play in promoting peace, stability, and growth? These and other questions will be explored and discussed in the lecture.

The lecture will take place in JO 101 (Johannisstraße 1–4). No prior knowledge is required, and you are welcome to bring a small lunch with you!

Information about this and other dates for the ZIN-Brown Bag Lectures can also be found on the poster for the event series, on our Brown Bag Lectures website, and on LinkedIn (@Zentrum für Interdisziplinäre Nachhaltigkeitsforschung).
