Journal SuN calls for papers on social movements in the conflict zone between ecology and society

Abstracts can be submitted until November 15 2025

The team behind the open access journal “Soziologie und Nachhaltigkeit – Beiträge zur sozial-ökologischen Transformationsforschung” (‘Sociology and Sustainability – Contributions to Social-Ecological Transformation Research’), whose editors include ZIN researchers Prof. Matthias GrundmannDr. Björn Wendt,  Niklas Haarbusch and Carsten Ohlrogge, has published a new call for papers.

They are seeking contributions for a special issue on the topic of “Contested Transformation: Social Movements in the Conflict Zone between Ecology and Society” (own translation). Both empirical work and theoretical-reflective approaches are welcome.

Interested authors are invited to submit exposés of approximately 500 words (including bibliography) by November 15 2025. In addition to submitting abstracts for academic articles in the SuN journal, article proposals for the SuN companion blog, which is aimed at a broader audience, are welcome, too.
