Abendvortrag am Tag der DH 2020: Raum, Zeit, Semantik

In der letzten Novemberwoche findet der diesjährige Tag der DH an der WWU statt. Wir freuen uns einen regen Austausch und hoffen, Ihr Interesse geweckt zu haben! Für den Abendvortrag konnten wir Prof. Dr. Carsten Kessler gewinnen, der uns zum Thema „Raum, Zeit, Semantik: Gemeinsame Nenner für die Digital Humanities“ berichten wird. Carsten Kessler ist Professor für Geoinformatik an der Aalborg University Copenhagen und forscht u. a. zu Semantic Web, Linked Open Data und Information Retrieval. Themen, die die Repräsentation digitaler Informationen und Wissenstrukturen ganz zentral betreffen und die wir für äußerst relevant im Kontext des Auf- und Ausbaus der Digital Humanities an der WWU halten.

Der Arbeitskreis Digital Humanities der WWU trifft sich online zum Vortrag Mining H-Soz-KultEs spricht Melanie Althage, M.A. (HU Berlin) 26. Juni um 14:00 Uhr (s.t.) Es geht darum, wie Informationen des moderierten Online-Fachforums Humanities – Sozial- und Kulturgeschichte automatisch extrahiert und strukturiert werden können. Damit wird der Termin vom 29. The Book of the Dead in 3D, Gastvortrag Ägyptologie

Das Institut für Ägyptologie und Koptologie lädt zu einem Gastvortrag über Zoom (Zugangsdaten unten) am Mittwoch, 27. Mai, um 18.00 (s.t.) Uhr. Es spricht Ass. Prof. Dr. Rita Lucarelli (University of California, Berkley) zum Thema „The Book of the Dead in 3D. Digital Analysis, Visualization and Dissemination of the Funerary Culture of Ancient Egypt” The “Book of the Dead in 3D” project applies photogrammetry to the study of the ancient Egyptian coffins in order to realize annotated 3D visualizations of these artifacts and their textual decoration. This paper will provide an overview of the project based at UC Berkeley and dealing with digital humanities applied to the study of the textualized coffins produced during the First Millennium BCE.
