MATHRIX Assistant Professorships in Mathematics
salary level W1One of the positions will be filled in an area of theoretical, and one in an area of applied mathematics. The professorships are for three years with the possibility of an extension for another three years upon positive evaluation.
Applications are particularly welcome if they strengthen, complement and/or connect existing research topics of the Cluster. Successful candidates should contribute to existing and/or future third-party funded grants.
The professorships should contribute to gender equality within the mathematical sciences, which might for example be documented by an appropriate gender equality concept.
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in mathematics or in a nearby discipline. They should demonstrate a strong research record and appropriate teaching experience.
The University of Münster strongly supports equal opportunity and diversity. We welcome all applicants regardless of sex, nationality, ethnic or social background, religion or worldview, disability, age, sexual orientation or gender identity. We are committed to creating family-friendly working conditions.
We actively encourage applications by women. Women with equivalent qualifications and academic achievements will be preferentially considered unless these are outweighed by reasons which necessitate the selection of another candidate.
Applications, including a cover letter, CV, list of publications, research plan relating to the research of Mathematics Münster, and teaching portfolio, should be submitted electronically, as a single PDF file, by 30 September 2025 to mathdek@uni-muenster.de.
