The Young Geometers meeting aims at bridging subareas of Differential Geometry by bringing together early career researchers working in geometry and related fields. The focus of the conference is therefore to provide networking opportunities for advanced master students, doctoral researchers and early-career postdocs.

Das Exzellenzcluster "Mathematics Münster" hat kürzlich eine Fortsetzung seiner Förderung für die zweite Phase erhalten. Ebenso wie der Cluster die gesamte Palette der Mathematik in Münster abdeckt ‒ von der reinen bis zur angewandten Mathematik ‒ soll die Konferenz herausragende internationale Mathematiker, Forscher des Clusters und Nachwuchswissenschaftler zusammenbringen.

The focus of this workshop is stochastic spatial structures in non-Euclidean spaces, including point processes, tessellations, and random geometric graphs. The event highlights recent advances and aims to bring together researchers from different backgrounds in order to stimulate active scientific exchange.

This workshop proves the Lubin-Tate and Drinfeld tower isomorphism at infinite level using Scholze–Weinstein's theory of local shtukas. It subsequently applies this special case of duality of local shtuka spaces to the Jacquet–Langlands correspondence.

Supporting young maths talents is a priority for many members of Mathematics Münster. Tianyiwa Xie, a doctoral researcher in Prof. Franziska Jahnke’s research group, accompanied the Irish team to China for the International Mathematical Olympiad in July. Here, she shares her impressions. 

Vom 28. bis 30. August 2026 verwandelt sich die Innenstadt von Münster in ein riesiges Festivalgelände mit verschiedenen Bühnen und Themenmeilen. Auf der "Wissenschaftsmeile" an der Universitätsstraße sind Groß und  Klein beim "Mathematik Münster"-Zelt zu Knobelspielen und Gesprächen mit Wissenschaftler:innen und Studierenden vom Fachbereich Mathematik und Informatik eingeladen.

In der neuen Folge von "On a Tangent" spricht Carlo mit Raquel Murat García über ihre akademischen Anfänge in Spanien, den Wechsel von den angewandteren Wissenschaften zur reinen Mathematik und den Sinn des Mathematikstudiums. In ihrer Forschung konzentriert sich Raquel auf condensed group cohomology.

The International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM) is coming to an end. Since 23 July, more than 2,800 mathematicians from around the world have gathered in Philadelphia to present leading research, participate in plenary and sectional lectures and foster international collaboration. Here are some impressions from the past few days, highlighting contributions by members of Mathematics Münster.

Die Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) fördert Dr. Robin J. Sroka, Postdoc und Investigator bei Mathematics Münster, im Rahmen des Emmy Noether-Programms mit rund 1,3 Millionen Euro. Damit kann er in den kommenden sechs Jahren eine eigene Forschungsgruppe zum Thema "Kohomologie und K-Theorie: eine Untersuchung neuer Verbindungen" aufbauen.
