Mathematik Münster

This second M²A² workshop aims to further mathematical modeling and model falsification in the sciences and to point out important new mathematical theories being and having to be developed for a better understanding of real world phenomena.

The Young Geometers meeting aims at bridging subareas of Differential Geometry by bringing together early career researchers working in geometry and related fields. The focus of the conference is therefore to provide networking opportunities for advanced master students, doctoral researchers and early-career postdocs.

Das Exzellenzcluster "Mathematics Münster" hat kürzlich eine Fortsetzung seiner Förderung für die zweite Phase erhalten. Ebenso wie der Cluster die gesamte Palette der Mathematik in Münster abdeckt ‒ von der reinen bis zur angewandten Mathematik ‒ soll die Konferenz herausragende internationale Mathematiker, Forscher des Clusters und Nachwuchswissenschaftler zusammenbringen.

The focus of this workshop is stochastic spatial structures in non-Euclidean spaces, including point processes, tessellations, and random geometric graphs. The event highlights recent advances and aims to bring together researchers from different backgrounds in order to stimulate active scientific exchange.

The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science and the Cluster of Excellence Mathematics Münster invite applications for a Full Professorship (W3 level), Bridging the Gaps Chair and two Associate Professorships (W2 level, 5 years). As an investigator at Mathematics Münster (MM) you profit from the vivid and international environment. Connect with more than 40 other professors and approximately 150 early career researchers from different mathematical fields.

Prof. Dr. Kilian Raschel (CNRS, Université de Tours) is a Münster Research Fellow and visits our Cluster for the third time. He works at the interface of combinatorics, harmonic analysis, and probability. He is widely regarded as one of the leading European researchers in modern random walk theory. During his stay in Münster from 15 July to 15 August 2026 he will further conduct joint research with Prof. Dr. Gerold Alsmeyer and Prof. Dr. Zakhar Kabluchko on persistence problems for autoregressive and moving average processes. 

Auf dem Ausstellungsschiff "MS Wissenschaft" geht es in diesem Jahr um die Medizin der Zukunft. Beim "Zukunftsmarkt" am 4. Juli 2026 zeigten Forschende an einer interaktiven Station vom Exzellenzcluster Mathematik Münster, wie mathematische Modelle helfen, Erkrankungen wie Epilepsie und psychotische Störungen zu behandeln. 

Vergangene Woche fand im Schloss die feierliche Promotionsfeier des Fachbereichs Mathematik und Informatik statt. Alle Promovierten, die im zurückliegenden Jahr ihre Promotion erfolgreich abgeschlossen haben, sowie ihre Familie und Freunde waren dazu eingeladen. Wir gratulieren allen Absolventen, besonders den 15 Promovierten von Mathematics Münster.
