Short Term Scholarships for Master‘s students

Secure your scholarship and visit Mathematics Münster for several months!

WHO CAN APPLY?
Master’s students who have already completed at least one year in their home institution. In view of the international mobility goals of this initiative, applicants are only eligible if they have not spent more than twelve months within the last three years in Germany.

WHAT CAN BE FUNDED?
Research stays in preparation of the master's thesis, or related research project.

DURATION OF THE FUNDING
From two to six months.

VALUE
Monthly payments up to 850 Euros, semester fees and travel allowance, depending on the country of origin and other potential sources of funding.

CONDITIONS
Proficient knowledge of English (B2).

DOCUMENTS NEEDED FOR THE APPLICATION

  • Statement of Purpose, containing information about the project
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Transcript (in English)
  • Detailed plan of the necessary financial support.
  • Description of advanced math classes already taken by the student (in English)
  • One letter of recommendation from one faculty member not at WWU.
  • One letter of recommendation from one supporting faculty member at WWU.

The two letters of recommendation should be submitted directly from the letter writers to the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at WWU at the email mm.scholarships@wwu.de.

APPLICATION DETAILS
This program has two annual deadlines: 31 January and 1 July.

SELECTION
Applicants will be selected by the Masters Scholarships Selection Committee based on criteria of academic excellence, motivation, and adequacy of the research project to the M.Sc. Mathematics Münster programme at WWU, and will be assigned a supervisor.
