At the University of Münster, more than 4,000 academics shape academic life in faculties, institutions and administrative units – whether employed or as civil servants. They conduct research and teach, support studies and examinations, and actively shape university management. Many also use the university as a place for their own further qualification: doctoral candidates and postdocs develop their academic profiles or often lead their own junior research groups.

Below you will find all the important information for your start as an academic employee and your development opportunities at the University of Münster.

  • Your application

An advertisement in the scientific field at the University of Münster has particularly caught your attention and you would like to apply to us? We are very pleased!

For questions about current advertisements, please contact the respective institutes or Professorial Appointments mentioned in the advertisements directly.

Excellent junior researchers can earn a doctorate within three years as part of structured programmes. If you are interested, please send your application directly to the respective Graduate School.

The University of Münster supports the acquisition of junior research groups both organisationally and financially. In addition, the university supports the group leaders in developing long-term career prospects. If you have acquired a junior research group, for example in the Emmy Noether Programme or in the NRW Returning Academics Programme, or are currently acquiring one, the University of Münster will be very happy to support you as a partner.
