Non-professorial academic staff

Non-professorial academic staff play a central role in shaping academic life, assume key responsibilities and confront a broad array of challenges at the University of Münster. Their tasks include organising and coordinating teaching and research activities, advising students and conducting their own research projects and courses. They administer third-party funding, participate in numerous committees, support science communication and influence processes of transformation in a highly dynamic and complex environment.
Permanent staff serve as intermediaries between students, professors and other active members of the University and ensure continuity in many different areas. Quite often they assume supervisory responsibilities as well.

Non-professorial academic staff require numerous skills to adequately manage and meet the diverse requirements of their jobs, while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

The new professional training courses listed below offer support to non-professorial academic staff in these areas. A number of courses were developed on the basis of a staff survey conducted at the end of 2022. Our thanks go to everyone who participated in the survey and helped make this new professional training programme a reality. You can view a summary of the survey results here.

Please note that the following courses are taught in German unless otherwise indicated. The English titles are provided for your information only.
