Exchange programmes worldwide

If you are interested in studying abroad during your studies at the University of Münster, you have various options.

As a freemover, you have the opportunity to go to a university abroad without a partnership agreement. You should, however, pay attention to certain things that we have compiled under the topic Freemover in our brochure: "Where will you go?"

In some cases, the individual faculties offer study places as part of non-European exchange agreements. If you are interested in such a place, please contact your departmental coordinator, as your faculty is responsible for advising, applying and awarding these places.

Central Study Abroad Programme (CeSAP)

The University of Münster has also concluded exchange agreements with universities worldwide at a central level. These central partner universities offer cross-departmental student exchange places through the International Office of Münster University and are presented in more detail below

  • An exchange with Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne (Australia) is not possible until further notice.
  • No exchange places will be offered at the following universities in the summer semester 2025:
    • Japan: Dokkyo University, Aoyama Gakuin University, Kyoto University
    • Canada: University of the Fraser Valley
    • Mexico: Universidad de Guadalajara
    • Taiwan: National Taiwan University
