Monitoring what matters – Athlete Monitoring in Long Track Ice Speed Skating
In the project “Monitoring what matters”, the research group Neuromotor behavior and exercise at the University of Münster, together with the German Speed Skating Association (DESG), developed and implemented an athlete monitoring system for the sport of ice speed skating, specifically within the junior squads. Using the online application REGmon, data on well-being, training, and health were systematically collected. The results provided athletes as well as coaches with decision-making support for training management and enabled the early detection of potential health issues.
