Abstract (English)
This article develops a normative account of digital cultural participation grounded in a structural trilemma between normalization, empowerment, and deconstruction. While digital infrastructures expand access, they simultaneously intensify tensions between inclusion logics that cannot be fully realized at the same time. Drawing on a relational-egalitarian framework that distinguishes three forms of unjust exclusion – marginalization, domination, and essentialization – the paper argues that just participation cannot be achieved through technical openness alone or by privileging a single inclusion logic, but requires reflexive engagement with their conflicts. This argument is developed through an analysis of digital archives, platforms, and AI-based tools. Through a reconstructive reading, artistic practice is interpreted as a model for productively navigating normative tensions. Building on this analysis, three design principles are articulated that may guide digital cultural practices toward enabling participation without enforcing normative uniformity.

Der Beitrag entwickelt eine normative Analyse kultureller Teilhabe auf der Grundlage eines strukturellen Trilemmas zwischen Normalisierung, Empowerment und Dekonstruktion. Während digitale Infrastrukturen neue Zugänge eröffnen, verschärfen sie zugleich Spannungen zwischen Inklusionszielen, die sich nicht gleichzeitig vollständig realisieren lassen. Ausgehend von einem relational-egalitaristischen Rahmen wird argumentiert, dass gerechte Teilhabe weder durch technische Öffnung noch durch die Priorisierung einzelner Inklusionsstrategien erreicht werden kann, sondern einen reflektierten Umgang mit den Konflikten zwischen diesen Zielen erfordert. Dieses Argument wird anhand digitaler Archive, Plattformen und KI-gestützter Werkzeuge entfaltet. Künstlerische Praxis kann Modelle für die produktive Bearbeitung normativer Spannungen bieten. So ergeben sich drei Gestaltungsprinzipien, die digitale kulturelle Praktiken so orientieren können, dass Teilhabe ermöglicht wird, ohne normative Eindeutigkeit zu erzwingen.
