Introduction of Prof. Dr. Julia Kurth

We are delighted to welcome Prof. Dr. Julia Kurth as the new Professor of Microbiology at the Institute of Molecular Microbiology and Biotechnology.  Since March 2025, she has enriched the Faculty of Biology with her research on the metabolic physiology of anaerobic microorganisms.

Bringing more light into the darkness

Cell biologist Prof. Karin Busch wants to leave the safe pathways in research and discover new things. Since June 2024 she has been heading up an alliance project on memory research which is receiving a total of around 1.2 million euros through the Human Frontier Science Program.

Introduction of Prof. Dr. Sabrina Büttner

We are pleased to welcome Prof. Dr. Sabrina Büttner as the new Professor of Cell Biology at the Institute of Integrative Cell Biology and Physiology. Since October 2024, she has been enrichting the Department of Biology with her research on molecular mechanisms of cell aging and intracellular communication.
