Inauguration lecture Prof. Dr. Julia Kurth 19.11.2025

On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, Professor Julia Kurth gave her inaugural lecture entitled “Physiology of anaerobic microorganisms: from molecular mechanisms to environmental impact” to her colleagues, students, and guests in the lecture hall at Schlossplatz 4. From gases to microorganisms to a brief excursion into the world of Marvel comics, the lecture covered a wide range of topics, and the interested audience had the opportunity to engage in a Q&A session with Professor Kurth. Afterward, the professor invited everyone to raise a glass to a successful afternoon.

The dean welcomed Julia Kurth on behalf of the entire department as a professor at the Institute of Molecular Microbiology and Biotechnology.

Professor Kurth has been researching and teaching in the Department of Biology since March 2025.
