Research
The Faculty of Biology consists of five Institutes and one Center for biology education and has a Botanical Garden.
Research in the Faculty of Biology is currently centered around six Focus Areas:

In addition, the Faculty of Biology is involved in several Collaborative Initiatives.
ProTalent Scholarship Program (Deutschlandstipendium): Application period begins June 22, 2026
The program is open to students in all academic disciplines with good to very good academic performance, as well as first-year students with the appropriate potential. In addition to academic performance, particular consideration is given to personal background, community involvement, and special social or family circumstances.
