  • I ran the tool, but it still won't connect. What can I do?

    1. Please check that you actually entered university-ID@uni-muenster.de as username, NOT E-Mail-name@uni-muenster.de
      Example: CORRECT:  a_bcde07@uni-muenster.de ; INCORRECT: anna.bcdefghijkl@uni-muenster.de
    2. Check to make sure you're using the correct password. You need the network access password, NOT your university password.
You can test the network access password at any time on the IT portal ("Passwords and PINs" - "Test passwords").
    3. Check to see if you are near a cell tower broadcasting "uni-ms" and "eduroam".
If not, feel free to test the connection the next time you're on campus.
  • I won't be in Münster until early November, can I still make the change after that?

Of course, you can still change your Wi-Fi settings after that. We're setting this deadline so that we can keep Wi-Fi connections running without interruption for as many people as possible.

  • My operating system doesn't meet the minimum requirements. What can I do?

To maintain the security of the university network - and, by extension, the university's operations - all devices used on the university network or university Wi-Fi should have the latest security updates installed.
Unfortunately, older devices are sometimes no longer supported by these updates, which is why we strongly advise against connecting them to the university network.

  • I'm getting a message saying that the wireless configuration service isn't enabled. What can I do?

The message indicates that the device on which you want to run CAT is not Wi-Fi-enabled, which means you do not need to change any settings on the device.

  • Are the "sum" or "GuestOnCampus" Wi-Fi networks affected?

No, only the "uni-ms" and "eduroam" Wi-Fi networks are affected by the change.

  • My question isn't listed here. Who can I contact?

Feel free to write us an email at it@uni-muenster.de .
