Brazilian Seminars 2026 at PUC-Rio

Brazilian Seminars is an international summer school developed by PUC-Rio, which will take place again in July 2026. This interdisciplinary summer programme, which includes numerous lectures and even language courses, gives participants the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of Brazil and gain a nuanced understanding of various topics in the Brazilian context.

15 Years of the Brazil Centre – A Festive Anniversary

On 23 June 2025, the big moment had come: the Brazil Centre celebrated its 15th anniversary – a significant milestone in the history of the cooperation between Brazil and Münster. At the festively decorated Alexander von Humboldt House, members, friends, as well as Prof. Dr. Ursula Neles, former Rector of the University of Münster, and Dr. Ricardo Schuch, former Managing Director of the Brazil Centre, gathered to reflect on joint achievements and open up new perspectives.

University of Münster call for proposals within the FAPESP SPRINT programme 2025 - 2026

New application deadline: 10 November 2025

As part of the SPRINT funding programme from FAPESP (São Paulo Researchers in International Collaboration), the University of Münster is once again participating in a call for proposals to co-finance mobility projects between researchers from the University of Münster and the state of São Paulo.

Postdoc in Germany information events in Fortaleza and Recife

In October 2025, the consortium of German universities will hold two editions of the Postdoc in Germany workshop in Brazil’s Northeast: in Fortaleza (21/10) and Recife (23/10). Organised by the German Centre for Research and Innovation (DWIH) São Paulo and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the events target early-career researchers who are in the final years of their PhD or who completed their doctorate no more than four years ago and wish to conduct research in Germany.

University of Münster at the 77th SBPC Annual Meeting in Recife

From 13 to 18 July 2025, the University of Münster – represented by Cíntia Toth, Head of the Brazil Centre and the Liaison Office São Paulo, and Dr. Anne Vortkamp from the REACH – Euregio Start-up Center – took part in the 77th Annual Meeting of the Sociedade Brasileira para o Progresso da Ciência (SBPC) in Recife.

Münster Expertise in Demand at Brazilian Scientific Conference

Dr. Anne Vortkamp speaks on an international panel on female entrepreneurship and innovation

Dr. Anne Vortkamp, member of the scouting team of the REACH - EUREGIO Start-up Center at the University of Münster and Münster University of Applied Sciences and founder of the start-up CARAPAX biotechnologies, was nominated by the Brazil Center of the University of Münster and selected as one of two speakers from Germany for the traditional round table of the German House for Research and Innovation (DWIH) São Paulo.

FAPESP Week in Berlin: University of Münster successfully represented

The 24th FAPESP Week took place on 25 and 26 March at Freie Universität Berlin. The event was organised by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in cooperation with the German Research Foundation (DFG). The University of Münster was successfully represented at the event.

Brazil Centre holds information events for PhD students and postdocs

For over a decade, the Brazil Centre at the University of Münster has been organising and participating in informational events for Brazilian students and researchers interested in pursuing postdoctoral stays in Germany. More recently, these activities have been expanded to cover other countries in South America.

Münster-Med-Summer-School 2025: Registration open!

The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Münster invites interested medical students and young professionals to participate in the Münster-Med-Summer-School 2025. The two-week program will take place from 4 to 15 August 2025, offering participants from all over the world the opportunity to experience innovative teaching methods, interactive workshops, and current medical research.
