Open call for the CAPES Brazil Chair at the University of Münster

The Brazil Chair is a key initiative for fostering academic cooperation between the University of Münster and Brazilian renowned institutions. Funded by CAPES (Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education), the call is open for applications until the 12 February 2026.
The call 24/2025 has the topic Investigation of the antiviral and anti-inflammatory activities of natural products and (semi)synthetic compounds against hyperinflammatory viral diseases and will be hosted at the Institute of Virology by Prof. Dr. Stephan Ludwig.
The Chair offers exceptional Brazilian researchers the opportunity to be a visiting professor at the University of Münster for up to 18 months. The stay may be divided into three parts. The programme promotes also a 6- to 12-month research stay for a postdoctoral fellow and a stay for a sandwich doctoral fellow from the Chair. Both researchers will be nominated by the visiting professor awarded the grant.
Since 2010, the CAPES Brazil Chair programme has been providing means to intensify and promote academic and scientific cooperation between the University of Münster and Brazilian research institutions and universities, while enhancing the visibility of Brazilian researchers in Germany. The initiative also promotes the expansion of contacts and scientific networks in the thematic areas defined by the call.
