The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) opened a new round of funding for outstanding early-career researchers intending to undertake a doctorate in Germany.

The Brazil Centre at the University of Münster organises and represents the university in these and other initiatives, participating in the delegation alongside other institutions.
The BioLigMat project (Bioeconomy through Lignocellulosic Biomass and Exopolysaccharide Transformation: Engineered Biobased Materials for Multiple Applications), which was submitted to the Bioeconomy International 2025 programme with the support of the Brazil Centre and Prof. Dr. Jochen Schmid, an active collaborator with Brazil, has been successfully approved for funding.
The PROBRAL programme has launched a new call on the 01 April 2026. The programme is a cooperation between the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES).

In August 2025, Dr. Jörg Lingens, a researcher from the University of Münster, spent a month as a guest at the State University of Maringá (UEM) in Paraná, Brazil. This visit combined research, teaching, and fostering scientific cooperation partnerships.
The Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo organises a two-week programme in English every year that includes practical educational activities in various medical fields. This year’s Winter School is scheduled to take place from 20 to 31 July.
In March 2026, four sessions of the workshop „Postdoc in Germany“ will take place in Latin America: in Brazil, events are scheduled in Porto Alegre (03 March) and São Paulo (05 March). Further events will be held in Montevideo, Uruguay (10 March), and in Buenos Aires, Argentina (12 March).
