The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has opened applications for a grant programme for PhD students in Brazil who already hold a scholarship there. The programme offers additional financial support for research stays in Germany and aims  to fund research projects to be completed as part of a PhD in Brazil.

The funding supplements a national scholarship from the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES) or one of the participating state Research Foundations (FAP). In addition to the existing Brazilian scholarship, the funding comprises a monthly grant from the DAAD. The duration of the funding is tailored individually to the respective research project and cannot be extended.

Interested parties can apply until 3 September 2026 for research stays between May 2027 and January 2028.

Further information is available on the DAAD website.
