The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)’s programme “Funding for international visiting lecturers to teach at German universities” supports international lecturers and professors who wish to undertake a stay at a German university. The aim of this programme is to promote the internationalisation of teaching at German universities and to strengthen the international dimension in teaching.

The programme offers two different funding models:

Visiting Lectureships (Model A)
Funding for the teaching activities of a single international visiting lecturer.

Visiting Professorships (Model B)
Funding for the consecutive teaching activities of several international visiting scholars.

The deadline for applications is 15 July 2026.

Funding is available for visiting scholars from foreign universities across all disciplines. State-funded and state-recognised German universities are eligible to apply.
