DAAD Programme for International Visiting Professors at German HEIs

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) invites international academics to join German universities through its dedicated funding programme “Funding for international visiting lecturers to teach at German Universities”. This initiative aims to enhance the internationalisation at home in Germany universities by fostering cross-border academic exchange.

The programme offers the following funding models:

Visiting Lectureships (Model A)
This funding supports the individual teaching engagements of a single international visitor.

Visiting Professorships (Model B)
This funding covers a series of consecutive teaching activities of several international visiting scholars.

The deadline for applications is 15 January 2027.

DAAD’s funding is available for visiting scholars from foreign universities across all disciplines. Only state-funded and state-recognised German universities are eligible to apply.
