Information Event "Postdoc in Germany" in Rio de Janeiro
On 23 September 2026, Rio de Janeiro will host a new edition of the „Postdoc in Germany" workshop. Organised by the German Centre for Research and Innovation São Paulo (DWIH-SP), the event presents postdoctoral opportunities in Germany, including funding possibilities and information on prospective host institutions. The workshop takes place at the premises of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Brazil, in the Botafogo district, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This is the third edition of the year in Brazil.
The event is aimed at early-career researchers who are in the final stages of their doctorate or who completed it no more than four years ago and who are seeking to carry out research in Germany. Participation is free of charge, and prior registration is required by 18 September.
The programme includes the presentation of the participating institutions, followed by individual consultations with their respective representatives. The event will be held in English and is a partnership between DWIH São Paulo and the Centre's cooperating institutions.
The University of Münster (UM) will be represented by the Head of the Brazil Centre's Liaison Office, Cíntia Toth Gonçalves, who will provide those interested with insights into funding and research opportunities in Münster.
In addition to the University of Münster (UM), the following institutions will take part: University Alliance Ruhr, Euraxess, Freie Universität Berlin (FU Berlin), Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH), German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD Brazil), German Research Foundation (DFG), Technical University of Munich (TUM) and the University of Potsdam.
