University of Münster call for proposals within the FAPESP SPRINT programme 2025 - 2026
As part of the SPRINT funding programme from FAPESP (São Paulo Researchers in International Collaboration), the University of Münster is once again participating in a call for proposals to co-finance up to three (3) mobility projects between researchers from the University of Münster and the state of São Paulo. The aim is to promote the preparation of joint research projects through reciprocal scientific visits and meetings (seed funding).
The call is open to all disciplines.
FAPESP will provide up to 10,000 euros per project in the first year (phase 1) and in case of project continuity, the same amount in the second year (phase 2). The University of Münster will also contribute up to 10,000 euros per project, whereby 50% of the University´s funding will be provided by the Brazil Centre and 50% shall be co-financed by the researchers with other funds (institute, department, third-party funds or others). The international mobility from the German side can be planned for the first and/or the second year of the project.
On the Brazilian side, researchers who have an ongoing research project funded by FAPESP are eligible to apply for SPRINT. For more details, we recommend observing the item 5. of the FAPESP call.
As a result of the SPRINT-funded collaboration, the Brazilian and German partners are expected to prepare a mid- to long-term bilateral research project and submit it to FAPESP and an agency in Germany, such as the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), among others. As an example, FAPESP and the DFG maintain a funding agreement for bilateral projects in basic research in all areas of knowledge. These projects may be submitted to both agencies at any time of the year.
In the FAPESP-SPRINT programme, the first deadline for submitting proposals to FAPESP and the Brazil Centre at the University of Münster is the 27th of October 2025. Up to 3 projects may be funded in this round through the collaboration.
The second deadline for submitting proposals to both institutions is the 23rd of February 2025. Up to 3 projects may also be funded in this second round.
