The research group of Prof. Iris Finkemeier, Institute of Plant Biology and Biotechnology in the Faculty of Biology at the University of Münster, Germany, is seeking to fill the positions of

at the earliest possible date. We are offering fixed-term part-time positions (65%) for 3 years.
The Finkemeier group investigates the role of post-translational protein modifications (i.e. acetylation, phosphorylation and cysteine redox) in the acclimation of plants towards changing environmental conditions. We are particular interested in the biochemical characterization of the writers and erasers of these modifications and to uncover their regulation. We use a broad range of molecular and biochemical techniques, especially mass spectrometry-based proteomic approaches (see Hartl et al., 2017 Mol Sys Biol, Née et al 2017 Nature Commun, Koskela et al. 2018 Plant Cell, Bienvenut et al. 2020 Mol Sys Biol, Füßl et al 2021 Plant J).
One of the PhD projects will focus on the function of cysteine redox regulation during seed germination, while the other project will focus on the role of histone deacetylases in organellar retrograde signaling. Both projects will involve handling of plants and a number of molecular, biochemical, proteomics and microscopy techniques.

- The position involves participation in teaching.

- A strong background in molecular biology and protein biochemistry or related field is a requirement.
