Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in

zu besetzen. Angeboten wird eine auf zunächst 3 Jahre befristete Vollzeitstelle. Die Lehrverpflichtung beträgt bei Vollzeit 4 SWS.
Das Forschungsprojekt:
Sie arbeiten mit an einer Forschungsagenda mit dem Ziel, Netzwerk- und Sicherheitsprobleme global zu vermessen, zu erfassen und einer weitergehenden Analyse im Kontext von Bedrohungsszenarien zuzuführen. Mögliche Themen sind u.a. neue Methoden zur Vermessung von DNS, Internet-Routing oder Sicherheitskonfigurationen von Internet/Web-Diensten. Wir arbeiten mit einer Reihe von internationalen Partnern zusammen.
Ihre Aufgaben:
- Mit der Stelle ist die Durchführung eines Promotionsvorhabens verbunden
- Forschung im Bereich Internet/Netzwerksicherheit
- Mitarbeit in der Lehre
- Unterstützung bei der Einwerbung von Drittmitteln
Unsere Erwartungen:
- Ein wissenschaftlicher Hochschulabschluss in Informatik oder, bei entsprechendem Studienfokus, einem verwandten Fach ist erforderlich (Universitätsabschluss: Master und/oder Diplom).
- Fundierte Kenntnisse in Netzwerksicherheit oder Internet-Messungen sind vorhanden oder können in kurzer Zeit und selbstständig erworben werden.
- Sichere Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift werden erwartet
- Sehr gute Kommunikationsfähigkeiten werden erwartet
- Eine didaktische Befähigung und Freude an der Lehre ist wünschenswert
- Ferner werden Softskills wie z.B. Kreativität, Teamspirit, Organisationsfähigkeit und eigenständige Arbeitsweise vorausgesetzt.

Doctoral Research Associate
Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in
(salary level E 13 TV-L, 100%)
from 1 January 2024 (or the earliest possible date thereafter). We are offering a fixed-term full-time position for initially 3 years. Full-time employees are required to teach 4 hours per week during the semester.
The research project:
The successful candidate will work on a research agenda with the goal of measuring and recordingnetwork and security problems globally and provide further analysis in the context of threatscenarios. Possible topics include new methods for measuring DNS, Internet routing, and the security configurations of Internet/ web services. We collaborate with several international partners.
Your tasks:
- This position is tied to working towards a doctorate
- Research in the field of Internet/network security
- Assistance in teaching
- Support in the acquisition of third-party funding
Our expectations:
- A graduate university degree in computer science or, given a relevant focus during your studies, a related degree is required (i.e. a master’s and/or a German Diplom).
- Sound knowledge of network security or Internet measurement, or the ability to acquire it quickly and independently.
- A secure command of written and spoken English is espected.
- German language skills are not required but a willingness to learn German is desirable.
- Very good communication skills are expected.
- A didactic aptitude and enjoyment of teaching is desirable.
- Soft skills such as creativity, team spirit, organisational skills and the ability to work independently are required.
