The Institute of Applied Physics at the University of Münster, Germany, is seeking to fill the position of a

 

Postdoctoral Research Associate
Wissenschaftliche*r Mitarbeiter*in
(salary level TV-L E 13, 100%)

 

at the earliest possible date. We are offering a fixed-term full-time position (100%) for two years. The position provides the opportunity to gain advanced academic qualification in space- and time-resolved Brillouin light scattering microscopy of nonlinear spin waves in nanostructures.

 

Your tasks:

  • Experimental investigation of nonlinear spin waves in magnetic nanostructures using space- and timeresolved Brillouin light scattering microscopy
  • Numerical simulations of nonlinear magnetic dynamics
  • Collaboration with external sample suppliers and theoreticians

 

Our expectations:

  • A completed PhD in physics is required
  • Experience in Brillouin light scattering spectroscopy is required
  • Experience in experimental studies of spin waves is required
  • Experience in numerical simulations of magnetization dynamics is required
  • Knowledge in nonlinear physics is required
  • Experience and knowledge of the software Origin and LabVIEW are required.
  • Good command of written and spoken English is advantageous.
  • German language skills are not a requirement but a willingness to learn would be desirable.
