  This event is aimed at international researchers and staff, who are considering to remain in Germany in the future. Under the title “Staying in Germany!? Professional Perspectives, Funding and the Legal Framework” different speakers will present many aspects linked to the options and potential obstacles in making your decision. Topics covered will include career paths in academia, research funding options, job search and unemployment benefits, as well as a detailed overview on immigration law, offered by the Office for Migration and Integration in Münster.

  Join us for our 'Seasonal Celebration' event! We will mix a bit of Christmas market atmosphere with the singing of Christmas carols over hot drinks and tasty treats. Whether you're looking to expand your professional circle or just have some fun, our upcoming gathering has something for everyone. While socializing, all little ones can help decorate our Christmas tree for which childcare will be provided. Register now to soak up some holiday atmosphere with us! Welcome Weeks | 5. bis 25. Oktober 2026

Dive right into the research community of Münster and discover all 'Welcome' events to favor the onboarding process of newly arrived international researchers. These range from small-scale events such as the Welcome Talk for guesthouse residents to a guided city tour in English as well as information events on the Welcome Centre services and engaging get-togethers. All events offer opportunities to network and socialize open to both incoming researchers and supporting staff in the institutes. See detailed programme schedule below.

Topics covered will be the services available for you, your workplace, rights and obligations as an employee and other aspects of your settling-in process in general. This digital meeting is a great opportunity to ask questions, meet fellow international colleagues and get off to a good start at the University of Münster.

  Curious about the university sports programme? Join us for a Zoom session to get to know the over 150 sports to choose from at the University of Münster. In addition to that, Welcome Centre Guesthouse staff will walk you through the process of creating your personal profile, booking and canceling memberships via booking portal and university sports app. The participation is free of charge. To get started, please have your university ID ready and download the university sports app beforehand (available in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store).

Come and get to know about life on campus by connecting with other international researchers while learning all the essential details of your stay in the guesthouse apartments at the University of Münster. The participation is recommended for newly arrived researchers.
