Zoom X: Chat Autocorrect (Windows)

Since the Zoom app uses the autocorrect function of the Windows 10 system settings, it is not possible to deactivate this function in the software itself. Especially when chatting in a different language, autocorrect can lead to confusion in written communication in meetings, as entries are automatically adapted to the default language selected in the system.

  • Deactivate Chat Autocorrect

Open the Windows system settings by right-clicking on the Windows icon and select the "Settings" option.

    Then select the "Devices" section.

Select the option "Typing" in the left menu bar and deactivate the setting "Autocorrect misspelled words" and, if desired, "Highlight misspelled words". If you then restart the Zoom app, autocorrect is also deactivated in meeting chats.
