The WiRe - Women in Research Programme of the University Münster’s Welcome Centre has been launched again. Excellent female researchers from all over the world are now once again eligible to apply for the WiRe scholarship.

On 22 December 2022, CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior) published an amendment of the call for applications for two Brazil Chairs on different topics at the University of Münster.
CAPES has announced a new deadline for the call.

On the evening of November 30th, around 30 former students, researchers and professors who were at some point in their academic career at WWU or Freie Universität Berlin gathered at the first Brazilian alumni meeting organized by the two universities.

The Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and founder of the Brazilian Institute for Teaching, Development and Research (IDP), Gilmar Mendes, and the academic coordinator of the IDP's Faculty of Law, Raphael Carvalho, visited the German Center for Research and Innovation (DWIH) São Paulo on 28 October at the invitation of the Brazil Centre of Münster University (WWU).

On 27 October, WWU received the visit of Prof Lívia Pelli Palumbo, from the Directorate of International Affairs of the largest Brazilian funding agency CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior), with which a cooperation agreement on a Chair at WWU - the so-called Brazil Chair - has been in place since 2010.
 

As part of WWU’s Sustainability Day "Campus Earth 2022", the SABio research group is organising the World Café on 20.10.22 (2-4pm) together with ZIN and the Brazil Centre on the topic "Energy transition from another view: Perspectives from South America".
 

Full Professor of Public Law, International Law and European Union Law, Prof. Dr. Niels Petersen, was in Brazil between the end of August and the beginning of September to hold a series of meetings and lectures.

In collaboration with GIZ, DAAD will start a new project in Brazil: the German-Brazilian Research Cooperation Program (NoPA) – DAAD.

The Brazilian funding agency FAPESP (São Paulo Research Foundation) has recently published the joint call for proposals with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for the PROPASP programme (DAAD: PPP-projektbezogener Personenaustausch).

The PROBRAL programme, a cooperation between the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES), has been announced again. Application deadline is: 31 May 2022 until 5pm.
 

On 3 June 2022, at 4 pm (CEST)/11 am (BRT), the third edition of the virtual seminar series between the Brazilian Supreme Court (STF) and the Faculty of Law of the University of Münster (WWU) will take place.

For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, the Brazil Centre of the University of Münster (WWU) co-organized and participated in face-to-face events to provide information about doctoral and postdoctoral research opportunities in Germany.

The foundation of the new network "APOENA" was announced during the 2nd meeting of the “Brazilian Diaspora Science and Innovation" on 17 March 2022 at the Brazilian Embassy in Berlin. The idea of joining forces with a network was born at the 1rst diaspora meeting hosted by the Embassy in February 2021.
