WWU receives representative of Brazil's largest funding agency CAPES

On 27 October, WWU received the visit of Prof Lívia Pelli Palumbo, from the Directorate of International Affairs of the largest Brazilian funding agency CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior), with which a cooperation agreement on a Chair at WWU - the so-called Brazil Chair - has been in place since 2010.

Prof Lívia Pelli Palumbo was received by the Rector of the WWU, Prof Johannes Wessels, in the castle. The central item on the programme of her visit was a meeting with the Scientific Director of the Brazil Centre, Prof Bernd Hellingrath, and Anja Grecko Lorenz, Managing Director of the Brazil Centre, to discuss the future development of the Brazil Chair and the strengthening of the cooperation. Furthermore, Prof Pelli Palumbo met Prof Norbert Kersting from the Institute of Political Science and Prof Johannes Eble and his Institute of Physiological Chemistry and Pathobiochemistry, who are the host professors for the Brazil Chair at the WWU in the current CAPES call for applications.

On an almost summery Thursday, Prof Pelli Palumbo, accompanied by Anja Grecko Lorenz had the opportunity during her visit to briefly visit the numerous institutes of the University of Münster spread all over the city and thus also to experience the city as a campus, which definitely fascinated the visitor.

The visit at WWU was organized and accompanied by the Brazil Centre. Besides the WWU, Prof Pelli Palumbo also visited the Universities of Tübingen and Bonn as well as the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation during her stay in Europe.
