For the first time in Brazil the German-Brazilian EdTech Hackathon - Digital Education will take place face-to-face at the Goethe-Institut in São Paulo from 22 to 24 August. The event is an initiative of the Brazil Centre and the spin-off of the WWU Institute for Geoinformatics, re:edu, as well as the Freie Universität Berlin, the Technical University of Munich and the Society for Academic Study Preparation and Test Development (g.a.s.t.), co-organizanized by the German Centre for Research and Innovation São Paulo.

With the objective of finding and proposing technological solutions to current challenges in digital education, the event is aimed at hackers who may work on digital solutions for the field of education. It is possible to participate individually or in teams in the field of edtech composed of students, entrepreneurs, educators, teachers, policy makers or scientists.

This event, which will promote the exchange between the expertise of German mentors and organisers with qualified hackers from all over Brazil, intends to find solutions to the various current challenges in digital education, which can be shared or reproduced easily by several institutions (social factor), or continue the development through bilateral cooperation between Brazil and Germany.  A representative of the winning team will have the opportunity to attend in person the German-Brazilian Congress on Innovation and Sustainability 2022 in São Paulo.
