IT Specialist, System Integration
Your job
You work in a large team with IT specialists, experienced trainers and apprentices and support the resolution of various malfunctions in direct contact with customers or via our telephone hotline. After an induction phase, you will take over the installation, configuration and setup of client systems or servers in test environments and gain valuable knowledge in all common operating systems.
Stations and contents of your apprenticeship
During your three-year training period, you will have the opportunity to build up extensive expertise in the areas of Linux and networks as well as in Windows Enterprise environments/AD, both in your day-to-day work and through internal training. Step by step, you will be introduced to a systematic and methodical approach to fault finding and solving tasks that arise. In addition to extensive knowledge in the field of network technology, you will also be taught detailed expertise for solving problems with specific software and hardware.
Soon you will be able to independently carry out the conversion or repair of IT hardware and the installation of software in large environments will also be no problem for you. In addition, you will learn to write and programme scripts yourself and will gradually be introduced to project work, so that you can even carry out your own IT projects. Due to the use of various hardware and software at the University of Münster, you will have the unique opportunity during your entire apprenticeship to get to know a wide range of relevant operating systems and at the same time experience the diversity of possible specialisations within the IT sector.
