Parkinson Vibrating Socks Team Meeting, University of Twente

The cross-boarders team behind the EU funded Interreg VI project - Parkinson Vibrating Socks met on 3. November at the University of Twente, Netherlands to discuss progress and set goals for 2026. The project, led by the University of Münster, aims to develop wearable vibrating socks to help people with Parkinson’s disease overcome Freezing of Gait (FoG) using tactile cueing.
During the meeting, each partner gave a brief progress report. These reports covered a range of topics from prototype development to data analysis pipelines. Partners also shared valuable insights they received from the participants and patients to be considered in the next development phase of the prototype. The team also used this opportunity to brainstorm and plan their first joint publication within this project – stay tuned.
Collaboration amongst partners was strengthened during this in person meeting. We thank our partner at the University of Twente for hosting us and we look forward to continuing to work together within this consortium.
