Maths Trail Münster

The Maths Trail Münster offers fascinating insights into Münster's history combined with mathematical puzzles. The challenges are designed for students from grade 7 and up, but younger and older participants are also invited to join the adventure. The tour can be started at any time, tailored to your preferences—and the weather! (in German)

The Centre for Mathematics Münster (CMM) is currently being built on the Mathematics Campus, a research building in which mathematicians will find a place for exchange and communication from 2027. Follow the progress of the construction work here.

Interview with Shirly Geffen

Prof. Dr. Shirly Geffen, investigator of Mathematics Münster, works in the field of operator algebras, and more specifically, C*-algebras. Since 2024, she has held a permanent professorship at the University of Münster. In this interview, she shares how she discovered her research field, how her academic path led her from Israel to a MATHRIX assistant professorship in Münster, and what she finds particularly beautiful about mathematics.

Juli 2025, ging es beim Wissenschaftsfestival "SchlauRaum"um Mathematik: "Wir folgen dem kleinen Medicus durch den Körper – mit mathematisch-medizinischer Bildgebung!" war der Titel des Vortrags von Prof. Dr. Benedikt Wirth von unserem Exzellenzcluster Mathematik Münster, dem viele interessierte Zuhörer:innen im Open-Air-Hörsaal in der Stubengasse folgten.

Interdisciplinary research on the dynamics of infectious diseases

Research at the new "Interdisciplinary Center for Mathematical Modeling of Infectious Disease Dynamics" (IMMIDD) , which had its Inaugural Symposium at the University of Münster on 10 July, aims to contribute to the fight against pandemics. Prof. Dr. Christian Engwer, a member of our Cluster of Excellence Mathematics Münster, is involved in the center.
