Book Presentation and Discussion

The journalist Cornelia Wegerhoff will host the book launch featuring Larissa-Diana Fuhrmann and the artists Amna Elhassan and Rund Alarabi. They contributed to the art book, which includes works by 40 cultural creators—among them the illustrator who depicts “Kandik” as a superhero and the musician who blends Sudanese sounds with hip-hop, jazz, and reggae. Larissa-Diana Fuhrmann will offer food for thought from her research on the impact of violent conflicts on artists, and conversely, the impact of art on affected communities. The event will take place in German and Arabic, with Sandra Hetzl translating. It will be accompanied by music played by Ibrahim Abdulhalim.
