SAFIR Research Funding Support

We can help you find suitable funding opportunities, offer advice on funding formats and assist you in the preparation and optimisation of your grant applications.

We are available by phone or email during regular service hours. For cases that cannot be dealt with via email or telephone, please make an appointment with us. You can find our contact information here.

Finding funding

We advise you on national and international research funding programmes and agencies.

We support you in identifying suitable funding opportunities for your research project. In addition, we provide you with the newsletter FIT, the research funding database ELFI and various guidelines (e.g. on financing publication costs).

Application support

We offer individual advice on preparing and optimising your research grant application.

We support individual and joint applications, including tailored advice for early career researchers. Our services cover strategic feedback, review of calculations and formalities, guidance throughout the application process, coordination of required signatures and interview trainings.

Science Awards

We support scientists with self-nominations and nominations of others for science awards.

Our services include individual advice on suitable prizes and awards, strategic review of nomination documents as well as scouting and benchmarking analyses for major awards.

Events

Our services include workshops and information events on research and doctoral funding as well as science awards.

In addition to our regular programme, we offer tailor-made events for members of the University of Münster and are happy to visit your institution.

Doctoral financing

We support you before and during your doctoral studies by providing individual advice on doctoral scholarships.

We are happy to answer your questions about funding institutions and application procedures. Furthermore, we offer a strategic review of your application documents and provide detailed feedback on your application.

Internal funding

We manage various University of Münster funding programmes.

Students and doctoral candidates at the University of Münster can apply for financial grants to attend conferences and for research stays in Germany and abroad.

Offices

We manage the office of the Research Council as well as the offices of the Rectorate Committees for Research Affairs (RKF) and for Academic Personnel Development (RAP).

Our tasks include preparing the content, organising and documenting the meetings.
