Tang Prizes
The international Tang Prize was established by the Taiwanese businessman Samuel Yin to distinguish individuals for their scientific and socio-political achievements. It comprises four categories, namely Sustainable Development, Biopharmaceutical Science, Sinology and Rule of Law. A cash prize of NT $50 million (approx. US $1.7 million) is allocated to each category. In addition, up to NT $10 million can be tapped within five years for a research project proposed by the respective award winner. Should there be multiple winners (up to three) in the same category, the prize money and grant are divided equally.

Dan David Prize
The Dan David Prize is the world’s largest history prize, annually awarding 9 prizes of $300,000 each to early and midcareer scholars in the historical disciplines, to acknowledge their outstanding achievements and support future work. The Dan David Foundation is looking for researchers in disciplines such as history, archaeology, art history, digital humanities and human palaeontology. Nominees must be engaged in outstanding and original work related to the study of the human past, employing any chronological, geographical and methodological focus. They should exhibit strong potential for future excellence, innovation and leadership that will help shape the study of the past for years to come. Academic nominees must hold a PhD and must have published at least one major piece of work, such as a book or a collection of articles related to a major project. They should be no more than 15 years post-PhD, although due allowance will be made for career breaks (e.g. parental and care leave or duties, health-related leave and career changes).

Hector Research Career Development Award
The Hector Fellow Academy supports the career development of W1 assistant professors (with or without tenure track) and junior research group leaders in similar positions in the natural or engineering sciences, medicine or psychology (max. seven years into their postdoc phase). The researchers selected for this honour become members of the Hector Fellow Academy's network of top scientists for five years. They receive 25,000 euros, funding to set up a doctoral position and the opportunity to apply for further funding.

Rita Süssmuth Research Prize
The state of North Rhine-Westphalia awards the Rita Süssmuth Research Prize for excellent gender-related research. The research prize recognizes the scientific and social relevance of gender-related research in two categories: The "Research plus" prize, endowed with 70,000 euros, is awarded to a research personality who holds a professorship at a North Rhine-Westphalian university or is working there following a habilitation; the prize in the "Impulse" category, endowed with 35,000 euros, is aimed at academics with a doctorate from a North Rhine-Westphalian university. The prize money is intended for the continuation of academic work. Its use must be related to the topic of promoting early career researchers.

Augsburg Academic Prize for Intercultural Studies
The University of Augsburg, the Forum Interkulturelles Leben und Lernen (FiLL e.V.) and the City of Peace Augsburg jointly award the Augsburg Academic Prize for Intercultural Studies, which honors interdisciplinary and innovative qualification theses. It is endowed with 5,000 euros for habilitation theses or dissertations and 1,500 euros for master's or diploma theses.
