Voyage, voyage...

12th mensch.musik.festival on November 14 and 15, 2026

“Voyage, voyage...” This is the theme of the 12th edition of the mensch.musik.festival, which will take place on 14 and 15 November 2026 at the Münster University of Music. Over the course of this weekend, audiences can look forward to a rich and varied programme across ten concerts, which will explore the theme of travel in all its facets through music. Whether it be setting out, encounters, longing or exploration – the festival takes the audience on a melodious journey of discovery through different eras and styles, whilst at the same time showcasing the musical diversity at the Münster University of Music.

Franz Schubert’s *Winterreise* opens the festival on Saturday afternoon in a moving manner, in an extraordinary arrangement for eleven instruments and voice: Hardly any other work combines the external journey with the inner quest as movingly as this song cycle. The festival’s resounding finale on Sunday evening will be marked by a cello and a saxophone ensemble performing repertoire highlights such as Bedřich Smetana’s *The Moldau* and Richard Wagner’s *Ride of the Valkyries*.

The musical spectrum of the entire festival programme ranges from Baroque chamber music to contemporary sounds, such as those featured at the grand pop evening, which traditionally takes place on Saturday evening. Even the youngest music lovers will find something to their liking: A children’s pop concert invites families to discover music through play and embark on an imaginative journey of sound together. Look forward to an inspiring festival weekend full of musical discoveries – all under the theme of ‘Voyage, voyage...’.
