We welcome Prof. Dr. Oleksandr Iksanov (Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv) as a Münster Research Fellow. During his stay at our Cluster from 18 March to 8 April 2023 he will continue his existing collaboration with Prof. Dr. Gerold Alsmeyer and Prof. Dr. Zakhar Kabluchko and will contribute to the Cluster’s Focus Programme "Effective and dynamic behaviour of random structures".

Oleksandr Iksanov is one of the most prolific and distinguished probabilists in Ukraine. His research focuses on problems related to random discrete structures with applications to stochastic processes, combinatorics and number theory. By now, he has accumulated around 100 scientific publications including a monograph on renewal theory for perturbed random walks and similar processes. For his article "On a skew stable Lévy process" joint with Andrey Pilipenko, he has quite recently been awarded the Itô Prize by the Bernoulli Society.

He has visited the Institute of Mathematical Stochastics in Münster many times over the last 18 years and ongoing collaborations with various members of the institute.
