Summer School on Calculus of Variations

19–23 July 2027, Münster, Germany

The Summer School offers an overview of modern topics in applied mathematics, with a focus on the Calculus of Variations and PDEs, including the treatment of nonlocal interactions, pattern formation, and stochastic homogenization. It is intended for PhD students and early-career postdoctoral researchers.

The school will consist of four courses of approximately six hours each, providing participants with a self-contained set of tools to strengthen their mathematical background. A poster session will conclude the program, giving early-career researchers the opportunity to present their work and to interact with each other and with the lecturers, fostering new connections. Funding to cover accommodation will be available, with particular attention to underrepresented groups and gender equality.
