Target group: doctoral and postdoctoral researchers

Looking to enhance your English academic writing skills? Whether you’re new to academic writing or refining your skills, this workshop provides you with the tools, confidence and support you need to start writing your next academic text – be it a conference paper, article or part of your thesis. Through interactive and practical exercises and expert guidance, you'll build solid foundational skills for conveying your research with clarity and precision.

Schedule:
Pre-submission of text: Wednesday, 29 October 2025
Session 1: Monday, 3 November 2025, 10:00-16:00 (Zoom)
Session 2: Monday, 24 November 2025, 10:00-16:00 (Zoom)

Objectives:

In this interactive and practical workshop, you will learn how to

  • Structure your writing effectively
  • Communicate your complex research clearly and persuasively
  • Build strong and engaging arguments
  • Overcome writer’s block
  • Use AI ethically to support you during the writing process

Requirements: C1 English. Pre-submission of a short description (200-300 words) of the text you will work on. In addition, you commit to continuing the work from session one until you have a 2-3 page draft for session two. While writing helps us think through and organise our ideas, the ultimate goal of academic writing is to communicate those ideas. So come prepared to keep your camera on, support your peers and share your work.
