Navigating postdoc pathways: Crafting your Individual Development Plan (IDP) after the doctorate
Target group: postdoctoral researchers
While completing your doctoral degree had a clear goal in focus, the postdoctoral phase often raises more questions: Should I stay in research? How do I qualify for an advanced academic career? What other options are available, and how do these align with my personal life goals? This peer-assisted workshop will support you in finding answers to these questions using an Individual Development Plan (IDP). You will reflect on your values, motivations, and competencies, and learn to set and achieve SMART goals within a six-month timeframe. Additional support is offered through peer group meetings and individual consultation sessions. In the follow-up session, you will evaluate your plan and achievements to prepare for your next career step.
Objectives:

Clarify personal and professional values, motivations, and competencies, linking them to key development goals

Identify effective internal and external resources to support development goals

Develop the ability to set SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) development goals

Anticipate and address challenges in achieving development goals

Exchange constructive feedback on action plans within a supportive peer environment
