Dr. Julia Tiede

Scientific independence through third-party funding

Dr. Julia Tiede is a postdoc in Prof. Dr. Jürgen Gadau's working group at the Institute for Evolution and Biodiversity. In her talk “Scientific independence through third-party funding", she will share her personal experiences with acquiring funding for her own research projects from the DFG and the BMFTR. Her scientific journey has taken her so far across a variety of disciplines, including horticulture, entomology, landscape ecology, biodiversity and ecosystem functioning, and molecular ecology. In her current research projects she's investigating the impact of land use change on the biotic interactions of small mammals.
