Would you like to study for your master's degree in a friendly environment and as part of a creative team? Then the University of Music Münster is the right place for you!

In summary
The Master Music Education and Cross-Genre Music Teaching (M.Mus) program offers an artistic-pedagogical focus within the following main subjects:
- Classical Instruments/Voice
- Elementary Music Education
- Pop Music
Start: Every winter semester
Duration: 4 semesters
Type of study: Full-time

Curriculum
In addition to their individual major subject lessons in the semester collective, students receive a second major subject: cross-genre music-making. Based on input, improvisation, individual influences, and personal preferences and abilities, a common musical language is found through student collaboration.
In addition to individual further qualification, teamwork is therefore at the heart of the program. Students form a semester collective in which they not only learn about and independently develop music together through cross-genre music-making, but also plan, organize, and run a festival.

Goals of the Master's program | Qualifications
The program teaches a wide range of artistic, artistic-pedagogical, and scientific skills, including project management, music education, and organizational skills.
It also focuses on expertise in the areas of employability, participation, and citizenship, as well as personal development and education. This gives students the opportunity to develop various skills during their studies so that they can respond flexibly to the diverse and constantly changing career prospects.

The degree
The program concludes with a master's project that brings together all of the artistic and artistic-pedagogical skills acquired during the course of study. This project consists of collectively developed components as well as an individual artistic contribution. During the semester, the festival (Fête de la Musique) and accompanying events (music education programs, workshops, collaborations) are developed collectively and combined with the students' own artistic performances. The master's project is then reflected upon in a portfolio.
